Cheek Filler (Cheekbone filler)

Cheek filling procedure aims to give a brighter and more energetic appearance to patients who experience troughs and a loss of volume on their cheeks or mid-face and look weary as a result. It creates a lifted appearance on the face. Accentuating the cheekbones creates a younger and more dynamic appearance in women, and filling the mid-face reduces the weary look on men.

How are cheek fillers applied?

Cheek fillers can be applied with needles or the cannula method. Applying fillers on the cheekbone areas with fine-tipped needles accentuates the cheeks and creates a lifted appearance. If there are troughs on the middle part of the cheeks, they are filled with the cannula method. Using at least 2 ccs filler on cheeks creates a noticeable difference in young patients in terms of prominent cheeks and effective lifting. The filler may amount to 4 ccs if the face is very hollow.

Is cheek filling a painful procedure?

Before the procedure, an anesthetic cream is applied to the area. Due to this, the patient does not feel the pain caused by the needles. In rare cases, the patient may feel a bit of tingling during the filling phase.

What should be considered after a cheek filling procedure?

There might be swelling and bruising in the area for 2-3 days. This situation typically ends on the 5th day. To reduce the swelling and bruising, the patient can apply arnica cream and ice from time to time. It is advised to avoid contact with water for the first 4 hours, and not to put on makeup for the first 12 hours after

the procedure. The patient should not massage the area unless it is advised so.

How long do cheek fillers last?

Cheek fillers last approximately 12-15 months. It depends on the patient's age, medical history, genetic factors, and type of filling. Repeated applications help the fillers last more.

Are cheek fillers harmful?

Dermal fillers are composed of hyaluronic acid, which is a substance found in the skin and the filling material of the hypodermis. Since they are naturally produced in the body and are not foreign to it, they do not lead to allergic reactions. The body digests them in 12 to 15 months. Hence, they do not lead to permanent harm or change.

In which cases can cheek fillers be applied? Can they be applied in the summer?

Cheek fillers aim to give a brighter and more energetic appearance to patients who experience troughs and a loss of volume on their cheeks or mid-face and look weary as a result. They create a lifted appearance on the face and can be applied to patients over 18. However, if the patient has severe illnesses, such as connective tissue diseases or immunodeficiencies, the procedure is planned according to the patient and the disease. If you have a disease, please make sure to inform your doctor during the planning of the treatment. Since they do not cause sensitivity to the sun, they can be applied in all seasons.
